gearing effect on dyno

What effect do 4:10's and/or a built trans have on dyno numbers?

My tuner said he lost 6rwhp from swapping the stock 3.42 rear for his 3.90 rear in his Z06.

Going to a numerically larger gear will give you lower dyno readings. You won't actually lose any HP just your readings will be lower. I have never heard of a built tranny giving lower dyno readings.

That's what I've heard I was just wondering if anyone knew how much lower. I heard about 10 rwhp which sounds about right with 6 lower from 3:90's.

There is no set amount of RWHP you will lose if you go to bigger gears. Different dynos will vary, however figure between 7 & 10 RWHP on the gear swap you mentioned.
