I wonder what broke first. The shaft or a gear? RPM sells a stronger shaft I believe. Either way nothing with the size of a c5 diff will be that bullit proof at your level. Fix the guts, then a ring gear breaks, fix the gear then you split a case. I just wish we had something strong enough to take the abuse and not cost a kidney.
Either way get it running soon. Your car is a sweet example of of a stock longblock vette. Makes me want a X kit, truck heads, turbo cam, etc, etc
Freshly rebuilt diff is in, and we're loaded up for going to Pinks today. A short drive with the Quaiffe seems perfectly normal. It's smooth and quiet. They tell me I won't break this one.
Props to Turbo Technology for busting *** to get me running in time to race. I'll post up afterwards with results and pics, etc.
The Pinks race finished up last night. I didn't make the field. My times were 9.97 to 10.13, about 133.5mph. The Quaiffe setup performs outstanding and makes the car run better than ever.
They picked a mid 10's field, and George from Turbo Tech went into the final 16 with a Camaro SS, but lost. A cool C4 doing wheelstands went into the finals and lost to a Mopar. I think the C4 had alot to do with them picking that class. Rich flipped out when he saw it launch and nearly stand on the bumper. I got lots of pics and video to show later, but need to get some work done. Maybe I'll make another thread for that.

I can't wait to watch the show if a Mopar won. That douche bag blows a wad in his pants if a Mopar makes a pass, much less wins the show.
Glad you had a successful 1st outing with the new rear. Good luck with it and keep us updated on how the quaife performs at the strip.

I'm sure that "douche" has producers that tell him which cars/drivers they'd like to see to maximize ratings. I think the trick would be to figure out what they're targeting.

It seems that most people like to see Vettes in the show, him included. Everyone remembers when we were young and Dad pointed out 'That Vette'. Now, if I can just get mine into the 11's without spending to much money.........
