All,
I just bought a 2000 C5 convertable with 32000 miles. Looks and runs great. Should I purchase a 5 yr 60000 miles extended warrenty from Carmax? It appears to cover all the major things and just about everything I can think of for normal repairs, excluding routine maint. of course.
A little help would be nice, this is a $2200 option, otherwise its only "covered" for 30 days from purchase.
My suggestion is no ...... its no fun having someone else play with your toy. Most parts you can get on here for less than that and do it yourself with help of other members. I have had a blast doing everything myself. And last those warranties are garbage I have one on my BMW and it sucks.
Thanks, I had not considered that. I think I will keep it stock for a while, but you never know. I feel pretty sure I have the bugs worked out of the car and will procede without an extended warrenty.........for now.
I purchased the extended warranty when my car was new in Nov. 99 and never used it. In 2007 my A/C unit went out and it cost me $800 to fix, car has approx. 33K. I was sorry I purchased it.
