Default Which headers are the "best"?

Which header system (with cats) is considered "the best". What are the typical gains? Dyno results would be great! Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe LG Pros were claiming the highest hp gain of all headers. I don't remember exactly but I think the gain was around 25-35. I love the fit and finish on mine !

Alot of guys going with American Racing Headers as well.

These are the only headers we run. Nick is a great guy to do business with.

I had Kooks and LG's on the same car...LG's made more power, Kooks were quicker in the quarter...You figure it out.

Could you please list your mods? Thanks!!

Just wondering because mine is a simple bolt-on car. I only have a Blackwing w/screens, tune and axle back exhaust. Would the pros still be beneficial or are they overkill for my car?

I'm running a "bolt together" (meaning nothing trick, parts off the shelf, no porting\polishing) 383 stroker from an LS1 block, afr 225 heads, 11:1 compression, mild 232/610 cam, Fast intake, Vararam and LG long tube street series (not the pro) headers. Also running built MN12 tranny, McLeod street Twin clutch and built diff with 390 gears.

Unless you will be going "all-out", I would just get the street series as I did. My car is running 10.6 @ 129 with full interior, full stock suspension, and thru the stock mufflers. Plenty fast and prob has a little more in it if I go north to the mine shaft air, unplug the exhaust and power shift as I haven't done yet.

I went went with the ARH 1.75s, catted X pipe into corsa Xtremes. Nothing else but a K&N CAI and tune and the car dynoed at 348/359. Love the setup, except for the sound at idle...very motorboat. Once the corsa's open up tho, the sound improves significantly.

Thanks for all of the replies! Now, is the car going to be considerably louder with a header system? (I would think so).. right now I only have an axle back exhaust. So I would consider the ARH long tubes into cats into an x-pipe. Are we talking LOUDDD here? or what?

Depends on the cat-back. What type do you have?

I like the Z06 Ti quiet at idle and sings beautifully above 3500 rpm.

Some cat backs can be rediculously loud with headers.

It's not such a loud exhaust. It sounds nice though. I'd say just about right. It's one of the mid-america ones: quad cruiser. The rating being "2 2 1" meaning that idle and wot is a 2 on a scale of 1-3 (3 being the loudest) and cruising is a 1. I'd say it's similar to a Corsa touring exhaust. I do have the "motorboat sound" though.
