I'm fixed! Drove it the last couple days. Runs like a champ! Haven't tried a high RPM shift but since everything with the clutch/hydraulics is new I can't imagine having the same problems as last year.
Great so Nickyfag is getting a dyno run on a dynojet sunday and then coming down to MIR on friday!!!!!!
As for camodumtruck and his poor wittle ankle braclet or whatever he's calling it. Get a tissue and call the wahhhhh bulance!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone.
I'm not sure how much more 60' those small 25" drag radials have in them.
I'm trying to get my hands on a hoosier 275 60 which is around 28".
Thanks everyone.

I'm confident the 9.43 won't hold up for long.
hi robz,
this is an awesome record.. can you share with us more details on your setup? i'd like to know if you running stock PCM? stock MAF? Cam Specs? Static Compression Ratio? Shifting point?
Damn Kurt I figured you would at least know by now.
It's faceplated.
This means no synchros in 1st,2nd,3rd,4th.
5th 6th and reverse are synchronized.
This is different from pro shifted.
It is not a clutchless unit. It is designed to use the clutch.
I always use the clutch. In the past Tommy has run the car without the clutch to see how much time can be save but it's very risky. We also had a backup trans ready and Tom is a trans builder so we took our chances.
The car will go faster without the clutch.
Anyone can shift without the clutch.
Whats the real danger of shifting with out the clutch if face plating allows this? Would we just lift the throttle a bit to match RPM, or is that needed with facelating? Man I want mine faceplated and have talked to Tommy in the past about doing so, but $$ has kept me away so far.

It will definitely 60' better. It wouldn't last as long but I only need a few passes before I mellow out the car.
Why wouldn't it last as long? what made you go with the M6 in the 1st place? i am thinking of going M6 and dumping my M12, want to trade? It's in perfect condition with only 15k miles. The nitrous causes the 1-2 to come so damn fast...

No more ET Streets? Aren't they a little better on softening the blow when launching real hard like we do? Only time I ever broke anything was with BFG DR, and have hit the running gear with up to 644rwhp...
By the way, great driving as per normal. One day i will try and catch up as you guys have just taken these runs to new levels (have been out for a while with back problems, but will be back next year).
Rob, could you at some point and time go thru all that you have done to the running gear for fast times? and as well your driving tech? and of course cover the motor too? Many of us really don't know the whole story and only get pieces of info here and there.
Thanks
and

RobertNitrousLegend I believe the reason he is using the M6 is due to the longer 1st gear and closer match between 3rd and 4th gear. The M12 has you at say 90mph on your 3-4 shift and the M6 will have you at 100mph which has you in 3rd longer and puts the RPM's higher when you hit 4th where some complain the car may for lack of a better term die down or bog on the 3-4shift. Keeping the RPM's dropping to a similar RPM range on each shift keeps the car at a momemtum IMO.
As for the tires and going back to a M12 I think if you watch alot of RobZ's launches they are beautiful but due to the style clutch I think the shorter 1st gear may play better for the car to get a slightly better 60ft but I think he's looking at the gains in the 330ft mark with the M12 trans gear ratio is going to offer which will pay off alot in the end. His motor is a high revving motor which will like pulling through the higher RPM's faster. It would be interesting to see but with that high revving motor I think he's gonna need to hold 3rd longer then he would want to for effectivness and more wear/tear on the motor instead of the drivetrain to make it work IMO.
Either way I wish him good luck and he is the type of guy to figure it out beyond my comprehension as always.

Great insight, that clears up many of my questions. I really want the Face Plating trick performed, but fear that the "street" part of street/strip will suffer. However, some have stated that once you get used to it, then it is really a non issue on the street? I know you have made great gains in your PB attempts and have followed many of the threads/posts, so your insight has become valuable to those of us still trying to figure things out, thanks.
