ordered some new tires.......
well....
in the quest for speed, i ordered some new tires for the track....
ordered some MT ET street 26 x 11.50 - 17's to use on some C5 Z06 fronts ...
link to tires
had a 10% off coupon...so had to do it.....
have only run my vette with street tires, with a best of 12.55 @ 112mph
so as soon as these come in, i will be waiting for a run in January...
looking to get my 60' down......and to drop my ET along with that...

I will probably be ordering the same ones soon. Did you get some front runners to or are you going to mix radial and bias?

i know your supposed to run bias frt and rear... but i have talked to several people who use these mixed bias/radial and they have had no issues as long as you keep the tire press above 15 psi....
when money permits i may go for the gto fronts with some bias ply runners...

That will take care of the traction dept, you'll love em. I borrowed a friends rear setup like that on my stock fronts. Razor sharp control in front, loose and sloppy in the tail, makes it easy to over correct. Scared the bujeezus outta me, be careful.

thanks, i have been told that too...especially with rear pressures under 15 psi...
I will try it out, and if i don't like the feel, next upgrade will be gto spares with m&h runners...

You might want to add a hardened L.S. rear axle with those tires.
(A tranny brace would be nice also.)

Have you seen the ECS brace?
It has nice thick aluminum struts. Really looks nice.

I agree. I changed lanes at 120 mph with the mixed tires. That was my last run of the day and until I bought new bias fronts.
Just a warning of what can happen !

thanks,
i have been told this a few times...but 120 is a little too fast for me...
i usually trap in the 112-114mph range
was also told it is related to rear tire pressure....
i will take the 1st few runs easy and see what happens....
