573 rwhp 530rwtq i think with a monster looking power curve...I rode in the car...it was a complete monster and he went 10.20s at 136 in positive DA with 342 gears with minimal seat time
i too had the tsp ls-6 2.5 prior to the tfs i now run. with a xer-273 out of the box comp cam 224/230 114+2 ran a best 10.974 at 123.66 stock gm gasket unmilled rw hp at that time 438. as for power on a 383 stroker 6speed check simpleman thread its alive on 11/19/09 in performance section. i believe he dyno 514/487. yes he has tfs heads. are those numbers extrodinarily high or are they about right. hes n/a
Well if I made 490/445 with a not so great cam and not so great heads then I can see the TFS heads could pick up the hp but not tq to make 514/487. Those are great numbers and very high for he normal 383 but not out of the question. I will have to check the specs. I think they are right but not the norm. Most I see are in the 460-480hp range and 430-450tq. But heads and cam profiles and what not are getting better by the minute. I put those 2.5 LS6's and 244/248 cam I had in the 383 on a 402 and it ended up making 521/495rw on the same dyno. So I think the cam and heads were the under performers. I just don't think 383's perform in the hp area like people think. That is due to bore size.
Pit. We are talking about 383's not 416's. My 416 made 573/530rw but that is not apples to apples.

Ahhh, sorry.... I jumped off track. I agree most 383's are not putting down great numbers. The range you gave is about 95% of the time I would guess. I am @ 480/434 on my 383 stroker, but my stuff is just bolt on out of the box, no porting and a street cam.

That's how mine was originaly. There are always motors that exceede expectations for one reason or another. I think people see great numbers from one motor with out knowing all the details and expect that from all motors in that size or type. It just simply is not the reality.

Exactly. I get that all the time (why do you only have 480 hp..so and so is getting 525 out of his ? ). The fact is, I didn't want to go all out as I had planned to do a ton of street driving. Pete told me if it was too radical it would just wear faster driving all those street miles. I'm happy, but I gues 525 would be nice now that I don't drive it much.
I still remember watching one of your vids where your car was getting loose at the end of third gear... half way down the track. It was a bad-boy !
Wow. Do you have a build thread? That is the highest I have heard of. That is more than Mamo's car if I remember correctly. I know alot of 402's that would like to see those numbers.
stick- exedy twin disc, yes you can drive it coast to coast..car still gets 28 on the highway and 20 city.
93 pump gas (car has kooks catted 3x3 pipe)
first and only pass got a 10.77 @ 132- on the return road i picked up a header bolt from someone elses car and it punctured the rear bfg drag radial...talk about an expensive pass.....btw the 60 was a 1.67. even though the rear is built, I was afraid of breaking something and left at 3k. it was a 140 mile drive home and a tow bill would have been a mother f*ker, had something exploded in the *** end.

yella terra ultra lights
fast injectors
ati underdrive
meziere
kooks 1 3/4 headers with catted 3x3 pipe
corsca exhaust
callaway honker intake
lingenfelter 383- lunati rods, lunati crank, je pistons
rear is still a 3.42
alot of other bs...pushrods, gm gaskets etc...all the assembly and tuning was done by Carmen at the Vette Dr's.
pitt im sure if you ran in the NE and tweeked what you got with cutouts and more seat time you could see 2-3 more mph and deeper 10s...the DA up there has to be better than what you see in FL

Cam seems a little small for those numbers but every thing else seems in line. I could see how it could happen. Your mph is good and with more seat time I am sure it would have gone up. That is a real nice combo.
Kurt. What did your 346 make? Didn't you have exactly the same combo?

Those are great numbers with that 60' and that stock differential gearing !!

same combo sans the 383 shortblock and EWP and cats...9secflat are you pistons domed? stock pistons and mls gaskets only netted me 11:1...mine did 468 with that combo with the 1 3/4 LG headers and stock diff
That is 50/40 over my 383 and he is trapping 3 mph more. Damn I could use those numbers ! That would put me at the bottom of tens !
He out powers my 383 by about the same numbers. I wasn't really looking for maximum NA numbers...was looking to make a decent nitrous set up (combo) with very good street manners NA.
Yeah,Prays 416 was a real monster. It's too bad that he never really had the opportunity to dialed in that bad boy in some negative DA conditions.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
