Will someone explain to me how a stock c5 can run 109, 110, or 111mph in the 1/4? That just doesn't make sense. How much do these cars weigh and how much power do they make? 111mph seems unobtainable in a stock car. Please help me with this.

Great driving (manual C5s only of course, automatics will trap lower) in good quality (ie: low density altitude) air at a well prepped track, that's how.
A stock C5 LS1 weighs somewhere between 3100 and 3250 pounds (depending on body style, options, transmission and fuel levels) without driver and will make roughly 300-325rwhp.
Even more crazy is that bone stock C5 Z06s have trapped as high as 118mph/119mph in great conditions.

A set of drag radials alone would get you in the real low 12s (or better).

OK, I proved myself wrong about the MPH question I posted 2 posts up.
I went to Atlanta Dragway last night with my new 1997 coupe M6 (it is stock other than c5 Zo6 exhaust). I made three passes. They were all 13.4X @ 108.xx Here is the first and best pass:
R/T: .120
60': 2.188
1/4: 13.41
MPH: 108.66
PS Warren and Kurt Johnson were there practicing. That was cool.

Hey Pete, bump me up one more spot please. I went to MIR today and dropped a little bit off my time, but not much. I had a bunch of 1.54, 1.55, 1.56 60's but the damn thing was refusing to go into 2nd gear nearly every run
.
Thanks
Matt
