Default which ones should i use

yesterday when i got out of shcool one of my nittos popped on me so i asked my friend how much for his semi new(only 2 passes on them) m/t 305/35/18 and ended up getting them real cheap. i already have a set of 26/10/17 et streets but i dont know which ones to use for the track. some info on my car. 01 z06,full exhaust, mti x1 cam, 4.11's, fast 90/90, c6 z06 shocks, lowered on stock bolts and a street tune. im planning on doing a 5k rev of the line which tires do you guys recommend.

Use the ET streets, much stickier, easier on the drive line, etc.
As far as the launch goes, start with the air pressure at 16psi or so and do a good, long burnout before your first pass. 5k will work for launch rpm, but don't dump the clutch, just do a quick release while squeezing the throttle to full during the release. I do it like this and have gotten consistent 1.5 short times and I'm only running 3.42 gears.

I agree with most of what you said. 16psi? I have not found the need to go that low 19 cold is the lowest i have been. I would start at 20-21psi and go from there. The lower the pressure, more speed scrubs off the top end and the more the car wants to walk around. I would also not start out at that high of an rpm. 3-4k and work your way up. You have to get a feel for what the car wants. Quick release of clutch and a squeeze of the throttle like you said. Minimize shock and the drivetrain will hold.
