Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone here has had a problem with losing power based on clogged mufflers or cats or both? My car is very different between cold and hot. I am going to "clean out" my mufflers and cats next week and see what comes out... Generally, your car is a bit more peppy when cold, i know that but there is a big difference... I just don't want to replace it all...
If you feel its your exhaust clogged, just disconnect the catback and see what your results are of driving it. If you can dyno it all the better. If it seems clogged try driving the car at night when coldest, see how the car feels instantly after taking it out. Typically catalytic converters etc tend to let enough by till they get hot then you lose alot of performance/power is a catalytic converter clogging up. If not could be just the car being hot and it hates you for it
It would be pretty tough to clog up the mufflers on these cars. My money's on the cats.
Just read your profile. You're running Kooks LT's and I assume hi-flow cats. I haven't heard a hi-flow cats clogging but I guess it could happen. Drop them and take a look. You should be able to see through the hi-flow cats like a screen.
