UPDATE as of 12/14/10
The people at the track will be there at 8:30am whether we come or not. Talked to Jason today. The track temps will be VERY cold in the morning due to dropping into the 20's the night before. At a previously arranged rental by Ranger on here they waited till almost 12pm to start running due to track temps. If someone would like to bring a Temp sensor to read the track would be good the track doesnt have one. Jason informed me the track will be prepped only one time in the morning when WE say we are ready and want to give it a whirl. If the track gets slick or can't get enough hook there may not be much they can do about it and running the JET costs $400.00 a hour. So pretty much not a option! Jason said they will do their best as always but do not want to us to be unhappy if the track doesnt hook in such cold temperatures. It is up to us to determine if we feel safe to run and still want to do this rental this year. I need EVERYONES input on this is a go and how we would like to go about this!

My input would be its still a go, we get there around 9am check things out maybe have everyone go for a breakfast some where close by if we would prefer to wait for temps to rise and return shortly there after check the track and have them prep it once we're ready. Probably start running later say 11-12pmish and we will be absolutely done and out of there by 5pm due to they have their company Christmas party that evening so 5pm we are to be out. 5hours with 11-15cars is enough time to get a GABOON of runs in and set some records IMO.

FYI Last years dec MIR was cold as Fartpipes nuts. There was a meeting to see if they wanted to run they decided yes . Around 12 they started making easy passes to warm up the track and the rest of the records that were set that day are still in the books. Be safe !

Wow, that's cheap... Damn owners probably aren't paying the pilots much, if anything... just to get that all important "jet" time in their logbook...Likely don't care about proper maintenance either.

Crap like this makes me sick...

I mean, really... How am I supposed to compete with prices like that?

It sure was! And I thought they DID have a temp reader there....
I'll be in a Silver C6Z w/ comp gray wheels....
I got a room in Waldorf for Thursday night. I likely won't be at the hotel until around 11pm though.

If someone wants my cell # I can pm it just in case.

ARUN will not be making it down. They had a pretty big snow up there and 12hour drive for a car like his to not hook is just not smart. So if someone would like to take his place step right in so he would have the ability to get a refund due to someone taking his spot. He was very coordial about it and understands about the $ if not so all the more it would be nice for someone to step in his place.

We may have them prep the track and make some easy runs back to back and then let the cars cool a little for whom needs to and start running all out.

Maybe we could have fun with the easy runs and see who can run a 13.00second pass or closests and throw a bucks on betting who can do it or best R/T. Just throwing out idears!!!

Would he take $50.00 for the spot? Hey, it beats a total loss LOL.
Seriously though, I would consider it but it is such A LONG drive (roughly 500 miles round trip) for me, though certainly not nearly as far as Arun was driving (and he'd be trailering, I'd be merely driving the car down). The idea that we could get there and find out it's not going to happen due to low temps would truly spoil my entire day (even my month ) after all those miles traveled. Of course that applies to almost everyone else as well so just like any track visit, it's just a 'man up and deal with it' type situation.

So the new guy comes up with a pretty cool idea.

A 13 second index race for all to enter. everyone throws $5 in for the winner.

Pro tree - all run field...

Not sure what everyone is worrying about!
Last year the high temp was lower then it's suppose to be Friday,PLUS it was mostly cloudy. Friday is supposed to be mostly SUNNY,39-42*.
Once they prepped the track & we started running, the track was perfectly fine!!! Even Jay had full traction....

Updated.

Mitch, if you see this, please send payment for Charlie Cooper to Fartpipe's account (see first post for account info). When you do that, let me know and I'll mark him as paid. Your inbox was full. Thanks.
