Alright, so since I put in my Spec Twin I've managed to bust a torque tube and a diff housing. This just isn't working out.
The clutch is a breeze on the street, but no matter how much I try to slip this clutch at the track it bites, and it bites way too hard off of the line. I've turned consistent 1.5x 60's with it, but it hits hard, spins the tires out a few times, then catches and rolls on. I've yet to hit the nitrous on it because I can't get the car to hold together.
I went with a twin disc because I'm not confident in a single disc doing what I want to do. The motor was built with a lot of nitrous in mind (2 stages/350+) and I'm never going to be able to find out how that will work out at this rate. (Not looking to leave the line on more than 100-150, probably will spray progressive). Need to get back to the chassis dyno, but the motor is in the ~500whp range as it sits.
So, I'm looking for some suggestions from the Kyle's and the RobZ's and the like that have run higher power 6spd cars hard to see what has worked for clutches.
Lets hear some advice, thanks guys

Damn.... another carnage story brought to you by Spec twin....
Sorry to hear you're having issues brutha. I'm ripping my Spec twin out with the new build and throwing in a McCleod RXT.
Have heard nothing but good things about them from forum folks and a personal friend that has been running one in a stock cubed S/C C5.
Word is, they grip well, slip well and have great pedal feel.
Only the addition of a Tick master stiffened up pedal feel, but not by much.
I've also heard good things about Monster and mixed reviews on the Tex.

Seriously theres several good clutch companies out there for us to choose the RIGHT clutch for your application is the hard part. There may be some give and take on the driveability, streetability, track ability. Not sure what clutch is going to slip, street drive, bite hard on the shifts for best ET/MPH and LAST!!! That LAST thing is the tough one!
Works great, good drivability, and its rebuildable. Got some pretty consistant 1.4X sixty foot times at the last track rental. No problem hot lapping it either.
I've got some gnarly **** meant for the 1320' on the way. I'll post up results once it is built, in the car and laying down some good times, as I'm not big on speculation.

Just an FYI for you guys, we have been doing some testing on a clutch that we are just about to release, it's Made by Mantic. The twin has such an awesome pedal feel, zero noise, and the clutch engagement feels like stock. We have one in an 1,100 rwhp C6Z, and it feels like your driving a stock Z.
The single disc is good to about 700rwhp, and has some pretty trick engineering involved to it for a relatively basic component. I'll post up something on it in more detail when I have time.

sick Andy, can't wait to see this thing back on the road. I plan on coming up with Bryan this summer for some 1320 action, promise to make more than one run this time now that my car is running great.
