Performance Results Dyno sheets, Timeslips, Track Records, Who has the Fastest C5 Corvette?

Default Need help.

Hi all, I am dissapointed in the vette, It seems that no matter what I do 12.8 is as good as it gets. The car stock ran several 12.85 on 2. short times. now it has a halltech CAI, offroad X, titanium exhaust, 2800 stall, 3.42 gears, tune. and drag radials. 305-35-18 MT's. tonight it ran a best of 12.84 on a 2.0 short time. it just will not break the 12.8 mark. The DA tonight was at 1700 which is not bad for this time of year. it spun very little on the line, and hardly at all when it hit 2nd. what the heck am I doing wrong? A friend says Headers are the answer. I am open to sugestions. I use to be a ford guy, had an 03 cobra that ran 10.8 with the eaton still on it and automatic. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

So what did your before and after hp numbers show on the dyno ? Was the weather differnt when you ran stock (winter time) ?

The weather was a little cooler, DA when the stock numbers came was about 1000-1200. not sure on HP numbers, Yesterday we had it on the dyno and it did 347hp, I was not there so I don't know the torque.

your 60 ft is killing you. whats your tire pressure, launch rpms, have a line lock and doing good burnout? had 295x35x18 bfg's dr's for awhile and ran tire pressure at 26lbs and would hookem up no sweat after a decent burnout launching around 1800rpm results low to mid 1.80 sixty ft and low 12's with close to your mods but with lt headers. also air up front tires to 40 lbs

I had psi at about 25, very little spin, That's what I don't understand is why it won't 60, the car feels pretty good, but yet the short times don't show it. front psi was at 32, no line lock yet, launching at about 2000. My tuner who is a very good friend says I really need headers, He says thats an issue. I guess my next mod will be headers but there hard to justify, I am real old school(50) and they are expensive for some bent tubing...lol Thanks for the imput...

I think it great that the old farts come out and "at least" try to keep with the spirit of corvette racing!!
