Any advice
This is my best results that came off the Boush light'em up dyno they have on the Iphone
60': 2.52 sec @ 29.5 MPH
330': 6.04 sec @ 67.8 MPH
1/8 mi: 8.82 sec @ 90.4 MPH
1000': 11.15 sec @ 107.0 MPH
1/4 mi: 13.09 sec @ 116.2 MPH
I have a brother in law that wants to show me up with his Gt500 shelby I would love to shut him up about it but I need more advice and stick time to get this done.
I know tires would be beneficial but what tire would you guys recomend for a street/strip

Firehawk tires are good for 1.8x 60's but you would be served better with DRs. Since you are running a Z, you should get an extra set of OEM 17" fronts. They only weigh 19 1/2 lbs. each. You can then mount 275x40x17 Hoosier DRs on them. Start at about 22 psi and go up or down from there depending on what the car does. Here's a cut/paste of some previous advice. Some of this may not apply. Also, we suggested slicks for this person based on his car. DRs will be a good choice at your power level. DR tire pressures generally can vary from 15 to 24 psi based on the various track conditions, car, mods, driving style.
Okay, let's start with the shift rpm point. If you do not look at the tach, which is a good thing, you should invest in a shift light. We use the Raptor as it is small and inconspicuous during normal driving. If you wish, here's their website.

This will make you much more consistent which is a huge key to figuring things out.
Next, let's look at the tires. Radials will trap higher but that should not be an issue since the first 330' is all that matters plus hitting your shifts. 623 HP is more than enough to get it done. The ET streets will recover unlike DRs that tend to spin and continue to spin; therefore, it may be prudent to stick with the slicks. You need skinnies up front to run any bias ply rear tire, preferably a bias ply also. Moderately spinning slicks should produce 1.5x to 1.6x 60's on very little prep. Slicks can be run from 9 1/2 psi per robz (I am not man enough for that.) up to 18 psi or so. Not knowing your setup (size of ET Streets or your type of clutch), let's start with some basic launch techniques.
1. Try 16 psi at first.
2. Start at 3500 rpm and slip the clutch and feed it throttle as much as the track will hold. Some wheel spin is good.
3. Make a pass and analyze the launch.
A. What was the 60'? What did it feel like? What did the car do?
B. If you spun very hard thoughout the launch, one or more of the following applies:
i. Tire pressure too high
ii. Launch rpm too high
iii. Throttle squeeze was too fast
C. Make an adjustment to one of the items, preferably change launch rpm by 200 and try again.
D. Repeat as necessary.
E. If you bog/dead hook, then one or both of the following applies:
i. Tire pressure too low
ii. Launch rpm too low
F. Make an adjustment to one of the items, either change launch rpm by 200 or add 1 psi and try again.
G. Repeat as necessary.
H. If you spin and then bog, you need to squeeze the throttle a little faster.
I. If you wheelhop, then you are caught in between traction and no traction. Bail ASAP. It is far better to spin than to either dead hook or wheelhop. Both can break parts.Launch rpm can vary from 3000 to 6000 rpm depending on clutch, track prep, tires, and technique.
Hope this helps.
Good luck and keep us posted.
BTW- What clutch? Perhaps the most important part of the equation.
With all of this said, the driver mod will give you the biggest gains. The Vette is much different to launch than any other car. Apply the techniques above and you will see some improvement. Below is a link to Ranger's website discussing these aspects in great detail. Most of us learned from him at some point.
Good luck.
