Default Aluminum intake?

Been trying to decide on which intake to go with for my boosted 99 FRC, expected horsepower after engine build should be around 900hp. Seen the Holley aluminum intake for the LS1 and havent heard many people using them. Any one have any experience with these intake manifolds? http://www.jegs.com/i/Weiand/925/300-111/10002/-1

People don't use them because they are heat sinks and they don't perform any better than a FAST.

I would advise against a fast on a boosted application. A friend had one on his TT z06 and was having problems with it leaking when it saw boost due to the two piece design

See GM High-Tech Performance Sept 2011 page 26. Jay McCardle's mid-8 second vette. They make no mention of the intake in the article, but from the picture it looks like an LS2 manifold with a 90 mm Nick William's throttle body (throttle body is mentioned). I've heard of LS2 manifolds being opened (they are two pieces) and ported out, but you can't tell from the picture if the manifold is modified. To me, it just proves that on a FI car the intake is not as critical.

I've also read that the FAST cannot take a backfire. One healthy backfire and the manifold is done.
