So last night my buddy just got a 01 gt mustang 2v charged with cams, not sure how much hp he had but we went 2 times from a 30mph roll, an i got him both times funny a old ls1 with a 150 shot smoked a charged gt with cams up...lol he was super pissed, gotta love those chevys....
ur funny.. corvette owners are some of the most close minded car people i have ever ment.. if its not a vette, its no good.. and comparing a bolt on c5 to a bolt on c6 is a little silly, there not even close. a five-o will take down a ls1 c5 mod for mod hands down.. what ford has done with the new five-o is absolutly amaizing.. i have two bolt on five o's around me that trap 120, bolt ons only.. have u driven a new mustang yet? didnt think so.. mustangs vs vettes is a age old internet battle, but really its apples to oranges..

Sounds like you need to head back over to the ruststang forum so they will back up these wild claims
Everyone is loyal to their own car brand, but for an apparent mustang lover to call a vette lover closed minded is just a LITTLE funny
For me persoanlly, I would gladly take a slightly slower (still fast AND georgous) C5 over any mustang. (It's just cool that I don't have to)
BTW,I didn't had any trouble at all with the five O I met
Love these stories !!! Typically stangs boast big HP numbers-- but it's all upstairs-AND the make horrible TQ at low-mid RPM's--A C5 is much lighter and has a pretty straight TQ curve all the way down to around 2800--and it'smuch higher too !!!
If you took a C5 and a mustang regaurdless of mods that have basically the same RWHP--the C5 would win every time---TQ is the secret !!!

i drive a c5z, but i can appreciate other good cars... something most vette owners cant seem to grasp.. some people need back seats and if was in that boat, new mustang > new camaro all day..
Keep in mind folks, you're comparing a C5 (which is technically early 90's technology delayed several years due to financial issues at GM) to 2011 technology from Ford.

Good point. IMO it's the LS1/Vette package that is so impressive. While the GTO is a nice car, it does not perform as well as a vette, even with basically the same motor.
Of course apples to apples would be the GT vs. the Camaro SS.

In many cases, yes...but not ALL of us are like that.
I've owned 4 Mustang V8s and still have my 2nd Camaro Z28 alongside of my C6, I love any/all domestic nameplate performance cars.

On average you're correct. But you do know that bolt ons only C5 LS1s have gone 11.2/11.3 with C5 Z06s having been in the high 10.8 to 11.1 range, right?
And yes, I know one gutted 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 has gone 10.9s with bolt ons as well.

Now that's funny! Age old? And by the way, this is only really a battle in the minds of the mustang owners. It is nice that the internet gives the mustang guy's a venue in which they can succeed!
Jack.
P.S. I'm a traitor, I own a '65 mustang that I hope to restore.
