I'm no expert but I will try to help you since no one is on line lately.
Clutch advice is a scary thing to give. 10 people will swear by one and 2 will trash the same brand forever.
Be sure to get the flywheel\clutch combo so it is balanced, and a steel flywheel if your going to drag race. A new Slave Cylinder is a must and a Tic Master is also high on the list. Check your torque tube for wear (do a search on the forum for detail pictures). There is a hidden bolt inside the bell housing holding the torque tube by the way.
Hopefully some other will chime in soon on what else you might get away with on the suspension\drive line parts.
Yes. GM slave and GM pilot bushing will work.
As Pitt said, a Tick master should be high on your list. Also, get a remote bleeder line while you're in there.
My buddy has over 400 passes on his RXT and loves it.
You have good advises above, however as captn huff said GM pilot bushing will work....well i assume he refers to C6 pilot bushing (ours C5 have pilot bearing...bad design), yes you can upgrade to Bushing however need to gring transmission spline shaft coming to clutch end and rest on Pilot bushing.....not a big deal you or your mechanic need to send shaft which comes out of Torque Tube (very light weight...no need to take tranny with ya) to a machine shop to grind off on front, take bushing to m/c shop as well.....will cost you less than 1/2 hr labor very easy.
Do bushing highly recommend otherwise pilot bearing will be just fine.
I would definetly suggest for remote clutch bleeder and you can leave master Cyl as is, if getting problem shifting to 4th at track or on street at high rpm shift than you can upgrade to Tick master Cylinder which can be intsall anytime.
I made my advice over on LS1tech. but just a recap.
Remote bleeder
new GM slave
Light flywheel (didnt state that before tho)
Pilot bearing /bushing
TT coupler inspection/replacement
and step up to a high temp brake fluid for the clutch. I run Motel 600 and have my SS lines heat wraped. (running long tubes)
That the main things to consider when doing the clutch.
