Wanting to put a cam in the vette...lookin for good street performance, nice choppy idle, and not have to rev it to the moon to make power. What do you guys suggest?

Probably need to list what your driving, engine, trans, gear and mods so far plus your plans down the road to get a good answer.
98 c5 m6 American racing headers, catted x pipe, corsa mufflers...
Do you know what gear you are running ?
This should be an easy one to answer for some of these boys. I would go with the advice from someone with track numbers to back up their choice. Too many people just say they love their cam and it is fast.
I think it has the 3.15 rear, but it is suppose to be fully loaded. It has the active handling, and performance suspension package. Did those come with 3.42's?

I'm not sure with the MN6 tranny. You might get lucky
I'm looking for some very good performance, with stock heads for now. I will be purchasing a procharger in about a couple months. I will be going the track every now and then, but mostly looking for something on the street. Currently the car has American racing long tubes, and catted corsa exhaust, ls6 intake manifold, and K&N intake. I would like a nice lope also!!!! A little less than a ms4 lope...I also don't wanna spin the motor up to 7000 to make power. I wanna keep the stock rev limiter due to no rod bolts!
What are the specs of those cams? IIRC the ms 3 is a pretty aggressive cam. Not sure about the V3.
Big cams are good for bragging rights and that's about it.
Unless you're looking for a really quick track number and are willing to put in the time effort and $ to get there, then I see no reason for going with a big cam. When drivability is the key objective, you want good torque numbers.
Big lift and lots of duration are fun to brag about, but don't necessarily provide you with your goals.
Now, you've mentioned your plan to add a pro charger in the near future. All the more reason to stay away from a big cam.
You can get opinions on the Internet, but I think you should talk to the guy tuning your car about what they think.
This is what I've done.
I've built a car with one purpose - to go fast at the track. I had a big cam and all supporting mods. It was tuned buy the guy that designed the cam and it was spot on. It drove fine on the street, but was no street terror. The power band was above 4000, and it screamed all the way past 7000. On the track it really shined.
My current car I went for more street ability, as running a quick ET wasn't the goal.
I opted for the GM hot cam. It's mild by most standards. 219/228 .525/.525 112lsa.
In a 2001 Z06 with basically stock heads, FAST 90/90, 4L60E conversion, and a 4000 stall converter and it is a terror on the street. I think I'll be lucky to see a 10.8xx in really good fall air, but I don't care. It's perfect on the street.
I believe this cam would make for a good blower cam too.
I had Englandgreen install their Mayhem 2 cam kit, along with American racing headers and a ls6 intake with vararam I picked up darn close to 100 at the rear wheel. I want to say without looking at the dyno sheet it was like 416 or 417 at the rear wheels
and it runs and sounds awsome.
