With seat time and good tires that thing should run at least 10.2 @ 132

Just a guess

Well, how familiar are you with the car? How much seat time on the street?
Done a burn out yet? Left hard from a standing stop?

What is your planned approach to the drag strip runs? Do you have a coach?

If you have a solid plan, and a coach, and are willing to make some easy check out passes, you might make a good run.

I know drag racing sounds dirt simple, but it isn't just a matter of pulling to the line, dumping the clutch and rowing through the gears.

not trying to disuede you in any way, but do it wrong and you will be frustrated, might break the car and won't come back. do it right....you will have a blast....and just might get hooked.
Ron

That's a lot of power with 3:90's on a street tire.

well, i did actually go to the track last night. i wanted to see what people thought before i posted the results. im very happy with how i did.
this was at englishtown.
all 3 runs i DID NOT do a burnout. i honestly do not know how to do one standing still... and i was not about to try and "learn" how to do one 3 hrs away from home. im not a big racer, ive only launched this car 3 times prior to this and those 3 times are the only times Ive launched a car PERIOD.

car number 8545

1st run EVER jumped right in line after a 3hr drive (150+) mile drive to the track, no cool down time... i didn't even know where the start line or even the finish line was lol...
i launched at 2k rpm not knowing how the car would react etc, the car bogged hard.

2nd run. i launched at 3k rpm. car still bogged a little but it felt much better

3rd run. i tried launching at 3.5rpm it hooked hard for the first 20-30ft or so then started spinning, i immediately let out completely and got back into it. a friend that came with me was watching this run and had it on vid, he said the launch looked perfect until the spinning. it most likely would of hooked if i did a burnout but like i said, i wasn't going to try.

It may just be me, but the timeslips are too small to read...

Also, here are a couple of videos I did to help out first-timers at the track:

Please forgive the fact that I am using a Mustang in the videos - this was before I got my Corvette

It was just showing me links to photobucket, not the actual embedded images... Speaking of which, you know you can rotate 'em in photobucket, right? :-)

Nice runs. Although with 550+ WHP, I would have expected a higher trap, even with a crappy launch.

well i made another trip to the track, i fixed some issues with the car and im pretty happy.
i was fighting either spinning or bogging on the launch but i got one decent run
11.43 at 124.* 1.9 60ft
it was basically the first time ive every even done a burnout in the car lol

same run different view

my first run i made for the day was going to be a good one but i let out at the 1/8 thinking it was the ended and hit the brakes... i still did a 11.7 at 100mph i did 102mph in the 1/8 which i gained near 3mph in the 1/8 since my last visit all with a 2.1 60ft
