Track night not good
First pass it lit the tires at the hit, I didn't go 3 feet.
Typical street legal deal. Street cars allowed to use the water box, too much water in the box for 65 degree air, water tracked all the way to the starting line........
On top of that, the car has developed a wierd gremlin where it will hit the rev limiter at the gear change and stop data logging. The log just stops. Did it last weekend on the 1-2 gear shift, and tonight on the 2-3 shift. In fact, tonight it wouldn't shift 2-3 unless I lifted. Next pass, with a different tune, nothing trans related, it shifted fine. Blew the tires off, but shifted fine.
On top of that, the vibration from my TT couplers, have gotten much worse......on the first aborted pass, I got it in high gear and leaned on it to 100 or so and the vibration about shook my fillings out. Thing is, on any other normal pass, it goes through 4000 in low only and is at 5000 and above the rest of the way.
I think I may be done for the season.
If they aren't going to prep the track, it's pointless anyway.
II bought a drag pack that arrives Wed....and I won't get to use it.

ive run at atco in dec on cold days forties low with hardly any clouds and by 10am hooking well when surface of track got warm
As far as the city owned track... I would think renting the track would be great income for them.
You will be happy with your Drag pak
Hey Bumble, as they say in the NFL, after further review, quitting while I'm ahead is exactly the correct plan. I have the orig TT and everything I've read says even though it has the smaller 10mm bolts, with good couplers, it is more than adequate at my HP level. I can rebuild it and just have it ready to swap.
I talked with our local C5/C6 and tuning guru, and he gave me some hints on some critical grounds I missed under the batt tray that just might be the source of what I think is the electrical gremlin that has appeared, and I'll work on that today. He will also do the TT job, and let me help, so that might be an option as well. He has the lift and all that good stuff.
Sigh. It has been a fun run! I exceeded my goal for ET, and have just had a blast daily driving the C5! I can keep driving it till the weather turns, but no more racing. The drag pack (machined GTO skinnies with M/H rubber and Z06 Alcoa's with Hoosier 275's) will look just fine in the spare office/C5 parts room.

You've had a great summer. Enjoy your ride and get back out when you can.

Send that drag pack out this way....I'll use it.
Good one! Do the words "Bite Me" mean anything to you?

It's actually comming from WI, probably about half way here now.
I'm pretty bummed. I was prepared to run on Wed when they get here. Bracket night will have real track prep, shoot, I'd have paid em to spray!
I've known all along I have been running on borrowed time with the TT issue.
Ron

Just a little "teaser" from this morning . . . looking forward to the fall air
