Ron,
We have not pulled this motor apart yet. We discussed doing rod bolts for safety and longevity but this may never happen. Some decent gains could be obtained if we ported and milled the heads at a later date just to see the limits of these motors.

Those calculators have never worked for me with any setup I ever had.

People said my heads cam setup had to be 2800 lbs.

I should do rod bolts...
With that little drag radial it should trap 134+ in great air but I just don't feel comfortable revving the motor up there.

I would probably consider stock eliminator class racing next or sooner than later if the race motor never gets wrapped up.

But I have my C3 for the track. Which you would Smoke.

Great Times!

i have looked at and tried them all, they don't consider the coefficient of drag of the corvette, their is enough info out there to start RobZ Corvette Calculators

The clutch in my car is an adjustable street/strip clutch that requires alot of experience to adjust and dial in just like tuning an engine.. It takes constant adjustments for varying track conditions, tire setups, clutch wear, etc..The greatest benefit I have realized is that it has helped protect the fragile C5 rear over the years. It can be a benefit in competition when the track is marginal and may require smaller than ideal tire but it has to be perfect.. It is also a bonus to have when you are shifting at 9000 rpms but at that level a whole other host of prblems arise.. I own several clutches and would recommend a more conventional clutch for any vette that doesn't compete regularly and doesn't have a clutch tuner. Also, something most people don't realize is that there are all different types of adjustable clutches . They vary as much as conventional clutches and even more.. Some have smaller windows to tune and do best on the strip and others can be perfectly streetable. The one currently in the car us not ideal for the ls6 setup but I have to go with what I have.
Goodluck with the c3.

I agree. And most people don't take into account power under the curve, uncorrected hp numbers, rotational mass, and engine/chassis efficiency when making those calculations and deductions.

Are you using QA-1 coilovers? I was thinking about purchasing a set. I definitely need to remove more weight from my car. What you are doing is very impressive by all means. I didn't try to come off as an a**. Thanks again RobZ. PM if you have any suggestions for suspension.
Ill pm you if I didn't in the past sorry.

If the engine has never been apart, that speaks highly of GM's blueprinting job huh!

Stock eliminator of course would assign you a minimum weight with driver, so I bet you would have to put weight back in. Although you do have a cage in the car, good job on that BTW!

You would also be allowed to blueprint the engine, and change the cam.....

Would be a fun exercise, not sure if anyone has chased the national record in a C5. Not even sure what class it would fall into.

I've watched thousands of car go down the dragstrip, and made more than a few thousand runs myself in a variety of cars. Your setup impresses me for sure.

Yeah. I have info on the SE classes and it's a bit conplicated how it runs . When the time comes I'll converse with people with experience like you and see where I fit in best. I have no doubt that racing is super competitive and cutthroat.
