Default 241-243 Swap ???

02; A4; stock TQ (thats next); CAI; 228R; LT Headers-X-Corsa Sport; 3:42,
Lousy Dyno tune post cam install.

Got 243's nonZ06 i believe & port matched the exhaust; relieved big hump @ intake; matched seats to cast (wow); and just basically removed all casting. Smoothed everything out. Did Not Re-invent the wheel or re shape the 243 design. Fresh valve lap.

Looked Really Nice for a dumbazz mechanic playing head porter if i do say so myself; However NOT flow benched. Really dont think I removed enough metal to change #'s that much, just gave a smoother easier path for the air to flow.

Should I feel this SOP?????????

35-55+ roll-ons starting in the powerband feel like a raped ape.
Otherwise, ????
No CELights yet; 50+ ign. cycles, and yes im still on the lousy tune.
Im gonna get 14 replies to get rid of the lousy tune I know, but exclude that from the equation for now.
Should I feel this SOP?????????

Thanks for lettin me rant & any of your replies,
Mark

edit: to give credit where is due, been 3+ months since driven and the roll-ons/ gently (haha) bang down to D2 DO feel different. Strong, eng breathes WELL to redline where i have no accurate shift points ( Thx moron tuner) so i cant do that cause now it doesnt work and is very frustrating. 1-2;2-3;3-4. Gotta force back=off shift 500rpm>redline (6k?). HPT will attack my pcm w/me & friend (Good w LS1 tuning)soon so we'll see what tuner did or did not do.

So you worked the seat insert until its smooth with the alum, correct?
Did you take your cut right up the the factory 60 degree cut below the 45 deg seat?
I think this is the tricky area on these. But it is hard to find any good info on what to do and not to do. At leas I haven't found any info. One good dialog on Speed Talk, but it was old and all the photos gone.

I'm staring at a set of 799's I just got all cleaned up off my 5.3, and want to do the same. I bet that seat material was hard!

I'd save the tune....unless you guys do it yourselves, untill after the TC change.

At this site, there are some useful spreadsheets that fixed the same issues for me that you are experiencing.

Yes, & it was dense. I didnt go crazy to the bottom of the 45, but cut/smoothed well up to the 50% of the seat height total

Will be done ourselves. Although Im 30 (?) +/- ign. cycles in I had an extended cold idle warm up & car started shaking form lope like it did pre-tune. Maybe pcm is re-learning new heads & somehow pushing the end of some parameter that tuner did.
The more i drive it the more difference i notice (duh).
When in the powerband feels SO strong.
I took bunch of cell pics on bench and knowing me after He%$ freezes over & theyre uploaded to my PC I'll gladly share the worthy ones with ya.
Went thru can of wd40 prob didnt prelube enough, and a case of brakeclean in port process.
Thx for the corespondence.
Your yellow beast looks/sounds to be real sweet.
