I know factory freaks arent as common as they were ages ago, and I was told there are no "factory freaks" anymore, but either the low reading dyno in the area was not calibrated or something is going on here.
Long story short, I traded in my 06 GTO (full bolt ons) that dynoed 364/370 for an 01 Z06, it was BONE STOCK when I bought it, had 21,000 miles. I since put a SLP Blackwing, and got a dyno tune. on the same dyno as the GTO I pulled 359/360 in hot and humid weather, First time I went to the quarter, spun bad and ended up short shifting to second and netted 12.5 @ 114. the car is stock with the exception of a CAI and a dyno tune, this dyno is a dynapack dyno that reads a bit lower than most dyno shops. So what is this? a spike or false reading, or a potential factory freak? Also another factor that might come into play is the correction factor, it was set to none on the dyno.

 

Cai/tune on a 01 with a 114 trap is dead on. My 02 trapped 116 in august ne weather showroom stock.

 

Dynapack dynos typically read higher (although 359WHP doesn't seem out of line for an 01 ZO6 with a CAI / dyno tune). Also, yes the correction factor would definitely have something to do with it as well. Agree with the above, your trap speed is right where it should be. No factory freak.

Roughly what my 01 ran with CAI and no mufflers and no tune. With tires I ran 11.9@115. 113mph bone stock

 

Went to dyno today and I tink I came up with factry freak also....

I bought a 03 C5 Z06 with 115k miles just under a month ago. I have not done anything to it. As far as I can tell everything is stock except for straight pipes from the factory cats.
It produced380whp and 369Tq

 

I was thinking some 02-04 cars dyno'd 370-380 stock depending on dyno

 

Stock with LT's my 04 Z was 384hp/377tq

 

That sounds like a freak to me...2001 are rated at 385 (engine) HP!
I did a run on a mobile Dynojet this weekend with a 02 Z06 (80,000 miles) stock except with Borla XR1 cat back and Twin cone intake (no tune) and pulled 356 RWHP and 348 TQ. I thought it should have been higher. I pulled up to the rev limiter (6600-6700 RPM)

 

maybe usually, but this is known as a low reading dyno in the area, my goat made 364rwhp there, when it was making 38X on dynojets and several other dynoes, the fact that the Z dynoed so close within that is what confuses me.

 

Dyno numbers are way way overrated, easily manipulated from one to the other.

1/4 numbers and trap speeds are a different story however.

 

Well My dads 02 z with longtubes and a CAI hit 366 on a dynapack after it was tuned, later on in the day I saw an 04 hit 359 with just a CAI.

 

I think some dyno's these days are factory freaks and not the other way around. Lol!

Dyno numbers don't mean much.

 

My 01 was/is a factory freak... Same was with my 04 GTO... Everybody knows about that car on LS1GTO lol...

Put down 367/364 right after a catback/CAI C6Z put down 435rwhp... Back then my car would trap mid 117's stock...

Car now with just Cam, Full exhaust and tune makes 440/408 and traps 124 in 3000+DA

 

Quite a few trap 117....
