First trips down the dragstrip...
Been over 4 years since I went down a dragstrip, and it was in an old Camaro SS.
Since getting this car I had been hesitant to take it to the track for fear of the rear halfshafts but decided to try it anyhow.
First pass of the day netted 11.37@137mph Had a crappy 2.0 60ft and second gear the car would break traction and hop, so had to pedal through it.
Best of the day was my 3rd and final pass of a 11.18@137, with a 1.9 60...same issue with second.
I figure to knock down the 60 and get 2nd gear worked out I should be in some solid 10s. All in all a great day as I was able to drive the car home.
Stats on vehicle:
Vortech V3 Strim with Meth
Custom Mayhem Motorsports camshaft
Full exhaust
Mickey Thompson Drag Radials.
660rwhp/580tq.

Dont feel bad at all, Im at 30hp less than you and ran almost identical times last time I went to the track 11.2-11.3s at 132-134. Its hard taking your newly finished baby out on the track and beating the hell outta it after all that work ($$$$$$$).lol Slowly Im moving toward drag radials though.

Thanks guys, yeah stock Diff and bottom end, built trans and good clutch. If I ever get the ***** to do it, i'll really try to rip into the car get a better 60ft. 10 second ANYTHING would be great for me, as I won't be at the track a ton.

Yeah it sure was, it was hooking fine, I was cautious first time out launching but it seemed to get out of the hole decent. Hope to get back there in November and get into the 10s!

i recently ran 02 Z06 with a little less power 600whp+
only got 4 passes
started with 11.47 @ 132mph 2.01 6ft
last pass (4th) 10.86 @ 133mph 1.68 60ft
this was on 5 year old drag radials (295 35 18)
i was happy with that so drove it home lol .
just get you 60ft down and 10s all day long
