Default My small 03 c5z project

Bought my 03 c5z in October of 2013 and didn't plan to do anything to it.

I put it into storage and then started browsing forums and reading build threads and decided I couldn't resist.

I'm starting with some Texas speed long tube headers with a catless xpipe and o2 extenders.
Then went with a B&b Route 66 exhaust for the catback. (Might be to quiet)

For intake I went with a vararam version 3 intake with fit very nicely.

Once I got to this point I was enjoying working on it so much that I decided to throw some nitrous on it.

I'm going with a 150 shot and using a nitrous outlet complete kit to bring it all together. Along with a NOS window switch.

Everything is coming along great and car should be going to get tuned this week. I will have numbers and some videos to post them.

Any comments or suggestions where I should go next? I'm all ears! Hope you liked the short little write up!

I'm not sure how experienced you are with N2O, but to spray 150 right out of the box on a stock motor might be a little hasty. Maybe start with 100 shot? The fuel system is where I would focus my attention for next mods.

Thanks for the reply! I am pretty experienced with nitrous in general and have done a great amount of research on what's safe for our motors. Future mods as of right now are going to be a cam and fuel but that will be next season.

If your not going to use nitrous much you may want to head towards a 3:73 or 3:90 gear. How many miles on clutch and what clutch do you have ?

Clutch is stock and 50k on the car and trans. I'm aware I will need a new clutch very soon but going to wait it out. Any recommendations for a clutch. I've done some research but there are mixed reviews on a lot of them. I don't plan to switch gears. It will be daily driven and spray is just there for some fun here and there.

hope you saved your Ti mufflers, in case if you dont like B&B which most likely you will not. Stock Ti's are light weight, flows good and no resonance or what so ever.

Also i would recommend TR6 plugs on all cylinders except TR7 or 2 step colder on #5 and #7 cylinders.......coming from FI and thats how we most do this way. Look Tr7 part #in FI section they are non projected tip NGK plugs.

GL in mods and i am quite sure you will enjoy pre and post working on car.

Any news ?
150 shot is nothing if tuned correct. I did the 225 shot (125 wet two 50 shots dry) for a couple years without a tune with my old C5. Once a 175 wet shot with dual 50 shots came together I had a problem.
Smart is tuning..

My tuner decided it was a good time to take a mini vacation with the family so i don't have numbers yet sorry! Im in no rush to have it tuned because i cant drive it until late march at the earliest because of the damn snow! The shop that is tuning it is called Late Model Throttle in waukesha wi. He has tuned a lot of nitrous vettes and has a twin turbo vette as well that is making some great numbers. He knows what he is doing and i agree completely that nitrous is all about the tuning!

Just got my numbers back from the shop!

The car put down 522rwhp/645tq on a 150 shot!

very happy with these numbers and decided to call it quits at those numbers to make sure the tune was safe.

Just a 150 shot on stock numbers made that?

What type of tuning was involved? stock fuel? 91 octane?

Sounds right to me. Z06 with headers is what, around 370 or so? Add 150, bingo!

Ought to be fun.
