wtb a cam
Have a 01 stock vette. Automatic. What is the biggest cam I can go with on a stock motor. I plan on buying a stall in a couple of months so dont mind putting it neutral at stop lights. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Contrary to what many believe bigger is not always better. Be careful here. Unless you're building an all-out max-effort drag car you most likely won't be happy with the biggest cam you can fit. Throttle response will be lazy, street manners will be terrible, and the car definitely won't be as quick and fun as it could be. When you install a big cam you'll need more than just different gears to be happy. Other things that would have to be addressed would be a converter (auto), headers, tune, intake, better heads, etc. just to name a few.
What are your goals for the car? If you're looking for a spirited daily driver don't go big.
IMHO call a cam expert and explain your goals and budget with them. There are plenty of vendors on the site and you'll get lots of folks who can steer to you a reputable cam guy; I don't know that you can go wrong with several of them. Martin @ Tick is a good starting place but feel free to seek others too.

In fact, I wouldn't even do a cam until you've done headers, converter, gears, tune.
You'll be surprised how much these cars pick up with just this type of mods.
