Default Motor Question

Would this motor be a good option for an LS6 replacement?

I would want more 1/4 mile & street performance

It would suffice but if you're going to spend that type of money I would buy a fully forged motor. The engine in your link is essentially a stock LS3. For that type of money you can get with a forum vendor or other notable LSX builder and have them build you a much stronger motor with forged crank, rods, and pistons. Plus you could have them customize the cam and power to be more in line with your goals.

There is a forum member selling a very nice fully forged stroker LS2 in the C5 parts for sale section right now for $6.900 shipped. Less money than what you have linked and much much better parts.

That is a sweet motor for $6900. Only thing is it was built quite a long time ago and has been sitting.

What's the concern with it sitting?

Personally I would buy the base LS3 and put in the cam of your choice plus have the heads worked. That way you will have motor pushing 500 whp as opposed to 450-470 out of that one for around the same coin.

You could buy an ERL bottom end for $6K (with a core) and $3500 for some good heads and make 550+ whp. Keep in mind that when you switch to an Gen 4 motor you'll spend an additional $1000 getting it into a C5.
