Bought a c5...has a 6psi procharger/auto/cam/longtubes etc...has 305/30/20 perrelli tires and it litterally blows them off from an 80 roll...tires are kinda thin thinking about getting some drag radials in a 20"....is there any traction mods or kits I can buy to help remedy this situation...feels like it has a bunch of power, just cannot anywhere near put it to the ground...car is also lowered on stock bolts I'm pretty sure and we are going to raise it back up...yall help me get a plan I got some buddies I wanna skull drag in some camaro and 5.0s
Even though 20" tires aren't the best bet for forward traction, these would be worlds better than worn out Pirellis.
Of course they won't last as long either.
If the car bottoms on the shocks at all, raising it up a bit might help as well.
Yeah, not great tires if you're "blowing them away" at 80mph. Especially at only 6psi. I suspect this is exaggerated quite a bit, but if it's true the Mickeys should fix that. Or, you can look at a set of R888's if you want the traction and not sacrifice the cornering as well. You'll lose a little at the launch on the strip. Also, if you really want to put a hurt on your friends rides, trade out those boat anchor 20's for a set of 17/18" wheels/tires.
