Default New exhaust,big difference

So I made a post before about my new exhaust setup. Its very much like borla straights but with resonated 4" tips. Now many say the power is either not there or negligable, but with my setup I felt a good 12+ increase. I have an A4 with just an airraid filter and the Custom exhaust. Anyone in Atlanta or know by visiting that has a shop with a dyno who warrants dynoing customers cars incase they blow it up?

I really need to have it dynoed to see but I swear It feels 12+hp faster than having the borla stingers on.

Welding sucks since its my first time in months.

It's too bad that you didn't have a DYNO reading "before" installing your new exhaust then be able to compare the difference from the old to the new and then after the tune also get the reading. I find it hard to believe that you picked up that much (12+) with the tips.

Nobody is going to warrant your motor that I know of because that could be an expensive proposition for them. I thought my motor just went because of the tune recently but when you start pulling at a high rpm you start to create heat in the motor and bad things can happen ... fact of life if you want to go fast sometimes it's just nobody's fault and things happen IF they were going to, sooner than later... I wouldn't be afraid of going on a dyno if that is your concern. They are a tool for tuning and I think you may be surprised how much more you can get out of a motor.

Well HW, while I was researching for how much hp you can get from borla stingers. If your lucky you get close to 11hp, sometimes 9. Its on this forum that i read this.

So I may have been one of the lucky few who got close to 11hp or more because it throws me into the seat alot more than the stingers did.

so you're saying that you picked up 22 rwhp just by putting different tips on Borla stingers? That is pretty good ...

No no, I was implying that I made 22hp. People say the hp gain for straights are negligible. What Im saying since I have resonated tips and not anything like borla straights that have no mufflers or resonators that I have picked up alot of rwhp from it than what has been expected.

My off the line has improved alot by having this setup vs the stingers.
I may have only 9hp gain, who knows without a dyno, but It sure feels like a 12hp gain from just this small setup.

Noob....I am going to try and remain restrained here but I find your butt dyno to be questionable at best. The idea that you could discern 9 or 12 hp and certainly a difference between the two by the seat of your pants is just ludicrous. You may perceive that the car is faster now that you have new exhaust but this may purely be a mental thing.

As others have indicated, if you want to know truly what was made you need to dyno before and after the mod and on the exact same dyno.

Beyond that, all this is just guess work. Maybe focus less on the gains and more on just being happy with your ride?

Apologies in advance if I am being a jerk today. Wouldn't be the first or the last time I pissed someone off.

I did full header back with a tune and picked up 22 hp and 20 torque (though this was on a previously tuned motor). This was in 95 degree heat and **** 91 octane though. You picked up sound, maybe 4-5 hp. If you're lucky. The stock exhaust really isn't restrictive on a stock car...

Its alot more than 4-5 because I can beat an 01 with ls2 intake corsa exhaust, tune and vararram manual

You beat the driver- not the car. Exhaust adds almost nothing to a near stock motor. (Other than sound, of course.) This isn't my opinion, it's a fact. Be happy with the fact that the car sounds great and that you've got a custom exhaust that you had a hand in. Nothing wrong with that. People are going to eat you alive if you continue with this thread. Lol.

I always wondered why some people cover their tag when posting photos of their car? What would that give away?

You gained nothing. Your car probably sounds worse. You cannot feel a 12hp gain in HP.

I feel my car is faster after I wash it. You cant feel 9 to 12hp. Your car deivinf Round normal losses that and gains it depending on temp. Its a placibo effect. Its well documented you wont pick up much hp if any with just an exhaust. Maybe its louder and thus you think its faster. Ask the honda guys about that..
