C5 auto tranny problem
New to the list, as I'm trying to track down an issue that I'm totally unfamiliar with.
I have a 2002 Lingenfleter twin turbo convertible that I 'sorta broke'.
I was giving a friend a ride on a country road and put my foot in it from about a 20 mph roll. Half way thru 2nd gear and pulling really hard, 'bam' the engine free wheeled and immediately bounced off the rev limiter.
Long story short... after I stopped and checked my underwear, the car would not move. It was as if it was in neutral. I put it into 1st and it went just fine, then shifted to 2nd and then drive, all with no issue. Ran fine except anytime my speed dropped below 20 mph, it free wheeled as if it were in neutral. I had to manually run thru the gears again.
Manuals I'm OK with, but not automatics. This tranny was done about 8 years ago by someone who does it professionally and he did a great job. Problem is he's hours away and would be a pain in the butt to get it to his shop.
Someone recently mentioned that it may be something as simple as a 'sensor' or some such thing.
Those of you who know these trannys, do you have a suggestion? Do you recognize the symptoms?
Any help appreciated. ( I do have a lift...)
BTW, this is a twin turbo, 725 hp with way wide tires. 345r-30 19's. Very streetable till you put your foot into it.

I'm in central VA and the shop I used is in N. VA. Not that far mileage wise, but no fun pulling a 24 foot enclosed trailer thru N. VA traffic.
The fellow I used is Wayne Rogers from Rogers Automotive in Chantilly, VA He's a Pro Mod driver, so I feel he knows the performance end of things.
