2000 c5 with a ls6 cam
I have a 2000 c5 with mild bolts on, I have long tube headers and a vararam cold air intake I would like your guys opinion on something. I have to replace the harmonic balancer and was wondering what you guys thought of adding a ls6 cam in while I did the job. Do you think it would be worth it? The car has 120k miles and I wanna keep it fairly reliable. Do you think I would get decent gains from installing a ls6 cam? I'm planning to do all the work myself as well from reading other post it doesn't sound too difficult as long as I take my time. Thank you!

I wouldn't waste the effort to install an LS6 cam. You won't really notice any seat of the pants difference.
If you're going to do a cam, get one of the wildly popular LS1/6 cams from Brian Tooley or Texas Speed.

If you install a cam, you'll need a tune. Why spend money on a tune for a basically stock cam?
You're likely concerned with drivability, right?
The mild cams like a 224/224 or 224/228 are really nice driving cams and easy to tune.
Where are you located? Find a good local shop to give you ideas.

I have no idea, I never had the car on a dyno but it worked great with the ECS mail order tune. I only put 3500 miles on it then swapped the engine for 402 LS2. If you are interested pm me. I would sell it cheap.

get a custom cam. You could get something mild like the LS6 Z06 cam, but a step or two hotter. Patrick G and a few other guys like Tony Mamo can get you set up with better cam.
I planned to do a Z06 cam, but now I will be doing a slightly hotter "custom Z06 cam"... its almost the same money, for a lot more power, and the car will still idle and drive like stock. If neither of those matter to you there are lots of off the shelf cams out there that are pretty wild.
