Default 427 Z's

What are your 427 powered Z's putting down and what track numbers are you seeing? Mine made 603/528. Haven't gotten it to the track yet.

Should trap around close to 140 mph with that much power. Et depends on driver, track etc...mid to low tens.

What's your combo?

Race proven motorsports heads cam package, halltech killer bee, AR 1 7/8 headers, 3in X, mamo 102. Driver won't be an issue. Kinda curious what c5 z06s are doing with similar set ups. My buddy's c6Z ran a 10.1 140mph with the same setup and MSD manifold.

How many times have you been down the track in a 6 sped Vette?

What makes you think there would be much difference, if any, between the two cars? Very similar weight. Similar HP.

If you want the exact amount I'll go count the time slips, but roughly 40-50 times. Driver will be just fine.
Never said there would be much difference... the point of the thread is to hear from others that currently run 427s in their c5 Z.
What does yours put down and what's your best times?

I traded in my 6 speed for a TH400 a long time ago. I'm just saying a lot of people, myself included, initially think getting down a track can't possibly be too difficult because they've been driving stick cars for years. Managing the power and clutch in an IRS car is a bit more difficult than people think.

So, you've got 50 or so passes. You have an idea what it takes, but, I'm still betting you're not going to set the world on fire the first time you roll into the water box with your new ride.

Best of success with it. Sounds like a beast.

I don't expect to be breaking records on the first pass, but after a couple it should be ok. The car is up 100hp from the last set up, but I'm still getting it out of the hole really well. Even on unprepped mexico streets. Well see how it goes.
