Default C5 Vette headers & X pipe question

So I have headers & an x pipe I been meaning to put on my corvette & ive been looking around for information on this and I can’t really find the exact answer. So I’m gonna remove my A.I.R system because the headers don’t have that lil piece or whatever it’s called 🤣 and because I’m removing my cats I know I have to get it tuned out because I’ll get the CEL. I seen somewhere that if you remove the cats & the A.I.R system without a tune your car goes into “limp” mode and you can’t drive over 30 or 80 mph (i forgot which one). Is that true ? And I have a predator Platinum 2 (somehow I was able to get it into Cali where I’m located ; it’s illegal here lol) would I be able to get a custom tune for it on that or would I need something better like HPTuners ??

unless the predator gives you selectable options to turn off those functions & reflash the computer, you'll need to get a new tune. find a reputable person to do your car (using software like HP Tuners or EFI Live)... or buy a program to start learning to tune your own.

can't speak to the limp mode, as mine removed the AIR, added exhaust, & got tuned all at once.

I didn't run into any form of limp mode after installing my catless headers and CAI, but I didn't drive it more than 50 miles before having it tuned.

I have a 2003 manual coupe, so if yours is different you may have different results.

actually... come to think of it, mine didn't get tuned for a month while i was waiting on the correct supercharger accessory box to get swapped out.
and i ended up road tripping it on the stock tune with LTs (had high-flow cats, though) & no AIR pump. never limped or threw a CEL, but it did get a little better gas mileage from running a touch lean (as expected).

I have the DiabloSport Predator Platinum 2 7210 and it’s tuned on the 91 Octane tune currently, the only mods done so far are a Vararam CAI and a muffler delete. If it don’t go into limp mode then I’ll go ahead and install it. Also my C5 is a 01’ Auto.
