I want to add a cold air intake system to my 2002 350, it already has Magna-Flow exhaust so hopefully a cold air package will compliment the upgraded exhaust.
My first thought was K&N, they advertise a 11.5 hp gain using their system. Any recommendations for other manufactures would be appreciated.
Thanks

LS1 is not a 350 btw. 8 billion threads on CAI intakes get a true cold air that doesn't suck in under the hood air.
There is no debate that the vararam outperforms ALL of the other intakes on the market for C5's. My car dropped 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile after adding one, and picked up 2-3 mph. That's a hell of a gain on a naturally aspirated car for about $350. You likely will not see any gains on the dyno, but who cares, it makes the car quicker and faster.
I was reading the Vararam sucks in dust past the filter. @slowtealz28 , has that been an issue for you? It's the only thing giving me pause at the moment.

I no longer have my c5, I now have a c6 grand sport. I ran the vararam for 4 or 5 years I believe. In heavy rain, on the track, in snow, you name it. Never had an issue with dust. People like to bash the vararam and say it will suck in water. Unless you drive through a small pond that's not going to happen. Look at the c5 and c6 fast list and let me know if you find the common denominator of the top 10 guys in each category. We all run/ran vararams. I actually found out about the vararam after I raced a supercharged roush mustang. We were door to door from 50-120. He told me about his buddy who bought this intake and made his c5 way faster. I naturally looked into it, bought it, and installed it. Ironically not too long after installing it I ran into the same roush mustang on the highway and we raced again. I put about 3-4 cars on him, first thing he said when we slowed back down was you put on that intake didn't you? There is no better bang for the buck than the vararam when it comes to the c5. Why more people who want their car faster don't run them is beyond me. The only reason I haven't put one on my c6 is the gains are nowhere near the same as on a c5.

i almost bought one for mine until i learned that the higher variability in the airflow makes it harder to tune for boost... otherwise, i second that opinion for N/A cars.
