Default Corsa cat back exhaust help

Hey all I hope I’m posting in the right spot I’m still learning everyday about this forum and my car. I got my 02 about two months ago. Whoever had it before me did a muffler delete and just straight piped the back right into the stock exhaust pipe. At least that’s what it looks like to me. I will post some pictures.

Sounds okay wide open. But, the drone at cruising is just unbearable not sure what the guy was thinking. And idle sounds fluttery and weird like a motorboat.

I’ve done a bunch of research and I really like the results people have when they do the corsa extreme cat back system. I just need to know what all to get and try to save money where I can but definitely not trying to cheap out. I’m also open to any other suggestions as well. That set up is like $1700 and I was kinda hoping to get out a little cheaper if possible as I have more stuff that needs to be done to it $$$$

Do I need to purchase the x pipe that comes with the corsa cat back system? Or can I get the mufflers, tips and pipes that lead up to it only and just use the pipe that is currently on the car? I believe it is just the stock H pipe and I am trying to avoid raspy and fluttery tones. Thank you for any help, suggestions, etc.. I genuinely appreciate it as I’m here to learn as much as I can.

Cheap solution is to buy a stock base car catback. You can find them free or VERY cheap. Run that until you have everything else fixed.

Thanks for the suggestion.. I knocked out quite a bit this weekend on her and only thing left is weatherstripping. I’d rather spend the money and get something nice than buy a stock exhaust then a nice one later

Only exhaust that won't drone is stock base car/stock Ti/Corsa//Borla Stype2 systems since they have technology/designs to combat drone.

Determine a price, listen to videos/ click "buy" button.

Only get Corsa Extreme if you will keep stock monifolds and cats. If you ever plan on LT's the Corsa Extreme will be OBNOXIOUSLY loud outside the car.

appreciate the input. I seriously doubt they will drone as bad as this hacked up straight pipe job lol. I don’t mind some drone but the current set up, if you could even call it that, it’s just unbearable. I think I have it narrowed down to either BB bullets or Corsa extreme axle back only. I might do headers etc. later but it won’t be anytime in the near future. Would the axle backs that I’m looking at sound good with everything else stock?

I am trying to avoid the motor boat sound that the straight pipes give me especially at idle. Wondering if the bullets will sound like a motorboat too with everything else stock

BB Bullets is not much of a catback...meaning they only have tiny mufflers. Corsa would be best option for no drone.

Motorboat sound comes from stock H pipe. All aftermarket options switch to an X pipe and will get rid of that motorboat sound.

Oh I gotcha. If I were to get the X pipe and the mufflers/tips, would I need to get a tune as well?

No tune is needed with midpipe/catback change.
