Default Help...Gears or Headers for lower ET's

I want lower ET's I could care less about HP, plus I want to build a sleeper.
Heads and cam may be in the future but I was wondering which would knock more off of my ET gears or headers.
Also recomendations on either would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Considering you have an 03 Z06 my advise would be to skip the H/C for now and get LT headers and an air intake. Next invest in a line lock, better tires, and a hardened rear diff. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised..

Cheers,

Mark

Gears for sure. 3:73s should be worth 2/10 and 3:90s another 1/10 assuming that you have traction. Cartek is not that far from you, give them a call.

i started out doing 3.90's and headers together. They work well together but you need at least drag radials at the track otherwise you may run slower do to wheelspin. I would do headers first if I had only one choice. Then its all about seat time before you go too mod crazy!

I do currently run the G-Force Drag radials, I have the Vararam and Stingers.
I run 12.4's
I want to go quicker, safely. Warranty.
Yes, I do need more seat time too, I'm impatient!
I also figure I can slip gears past the dealer if something happens to the motor, headers I would hope are fine. Once I go to cam and/or heads, I'm screwed.

I would stay away from H/C if you want to keep your warranty. LT Headers + a 100 shot of N20 and your car would absolutely scream.

IMO... Do not waste your money on 3.90 gears, go lower. You would be better served by 4.10s, remember that you have 2 overdrive gears in your manual trans. Tires with a good grip and lower gears are more likely to improve your ET than headers alone will.

Gears will get you more than headers, IMO.

I'll be selling both soon as I'm going back to stock. Getrag 3.73 and TPIS LT headers w/offroad x-pipe. Also going to have a vararam for sale, let me know if you're interested.

How old is the stuff (Condition)....probably interested. I plan on getting both eventually. Will the factory cats/x-pipe bolt on in place of the off road pipe for my emissions test? Already have the vararam...

They are more fun on the road but I didn't gain anything in the 1/4 mile. Same 60's and everything. Oh well, I guess they are worth it on the street but not on the track. Kaley

If CYA is not interested I am interested in the gears. Thinking about 342 or 373.
