1/8 mile help?
They opened up a new 1/8 mile track out here in Houston (I came home for a few weeks as my summer leave), so I figured that I'd turn over a new leaf and try some legal racing for a change in my 2001 C5 M6 coupe with the only mods being a set of Firestone Firehawk tires, blackwing, borla stingers, and a kirban short throw shifter...However, I don't know anything about eighth mile times, so I was wondering if yall could help me decode these numbers and see if I'm running where I should be...Below is my best e.t. of the night, with most of my passes falling in the 8.8-8.9 range with mph ranging from 83-83.5...
60' 2.25
330' 5.863
1/8 et 8.777
1/8 mph 83.19
The temperature was in the 80's with nearly 100% humidity, and it seemed like a lot of cars were having some problems with that...For comparisons sake, a late model M3 was running in the 9.0-9.1 range, a wrx sti that I ran against ran 8.81 @ 78.26, one of those new turbo Dodge Neon's ran around a 9.3-9.4, and an automatic C4 vette was having a lot of trouble breaking 9.5...Any input you guys can give me is greatly appreciated
I have listed the 60 ft times, 330 ft and 1/8 mile ET and mph. of my first four runs (conical air filter in place of the stock air box.
2.0671 2.0167 2.0161 2.1243
5.6439 5.5972 5.5745 5.7288
8.5689 8.5268 8.4855 8.6739
84.77 84.63 84.95 84.81
The car now is half way through being defanged. Soon it will be back to these times (except with 3.42 gears). The new owner of the FLP Level V tranny/DTE 3.90's and PT4000 is setting low ET's now back in his home town!
