I ended up going with the Borla stingers two tip. I like the sound but would not mind a little louder. I am sure installing an X or H pipe will help. Not no mention headers.
If you wanted loud... Loudmouths would have done it for ya
I had Corsa on my GTS Viper and man...it sounded mean. It was expensive but i believe well worth it. I though modifying the Vette was going to be a little cheaper and it really is not.
I absolutely loved the WOT of my loud mouths, but was too loud. So I got the SLP X-pipe with resonator. The sound was beautiful, but still had some reasonance in my A4 from 2000-2400. So I just sold my loud mouths for Z06 Ti's.
But for heavy foot sound, the loud mouth was my favorite. Always a trade off I suppose.
I spent months listening to every exhaust system I could find, but none were right. My target was the sound of my old '69 Pontiac with a 400ci. Ended up with Borla straight pipes from http://www.xmsengineering.com/exhaust/. Sound is fantastic - rumbly gurgle at idle, banshee wail at redline. Nice snap-cracle-pop off-throttle. I never hit the skip-shift anymore, the sound encourages a heavy right foot. How loud? The first time my wife heard it, she buried her face in her hands and muttered, "what will the neighbors think?" She has since come to really enjoy it, and considers all other exhaust "too wimpy"!!! FYI, I have a vert, and get a little resonance in the 2000-2500 range with the top up. Might be worse in a coupe. I've had it on for 6 months and LOVE it. Considering headers/x-pipe next...
Extra bonus: way cheap at $330
Extra warning: Holy cow it's loud. Seriously. As the ad says, this is not for the faint of heart.
I HATE my Corsas! The sound okay while driving, but they sound like crap at Idle. They sound like a cross between a boat and a tractor! I am seriously thinking about switching to Borla instead
