Default Any input on my tune? Graph included.....

Hello Fellas, I have been going through withdrawl for the past couple days....w/ the forum being down and the server being busy....

O.K. here is the breakdown....

Y2K Vert M6, vararam, borla stingers, GTP Heads, Lingenfelter Cam(mild), LS-1 edit tune, stock exhaust manifold w/ cats, stock LS-1 intake.

Base line before the tune was 340.4 hp and 333.5 torque. Jeff Creech at Carolina Auto Masters got it up to 355.4 hp and 343.5 torque. I will post the actual graph when i get his e-mail.....

I need to get some headers and x-pipe and Z06 intake and i should be knockin' on the door of 400 hp at the wheels....

What do you guys think?

Special thanks to MSGHUFF and CCajun4real for their help.....
Wayne and I busted azz from 1pm on sunday afternoon to nearly 3am on monday morning to install the H/C....

Here is the graph:

400 might be a little optimistic with current H/C set-up, but 375+ after headers is for sure...good luck.

It was nice to meet you Marko! Very sweet vette you have and with a good set of headers and an LS6 intake you will be very close to 400 I would guess ~10 for the intake and ~ 30 for the headers/off road X-pipe.

nice to see real numbers....i have similar setup except instead of heads i have headers and high flow cats....did 350hp/360tq with a4....with headers and cats i would think you should pull 375 to 400 hp...

Dont worry about what a A4 dyno's. I dyno ~380 with heads cam and all boltons. At the track or on the street I beat M6 cars that dyno over 400. How many H/C or Maggie charged M6's run mid 11's at ~118. Not many.

You will need a beefer trany sooner than you think. I got 49.5K miles out of my stock tranny which was slipping when I ran that number. I only got 3K miles when I went over 380 rwhp. Cant wait until the FLP4 tranny is in!

I hear ya, bro....

A4's have the advantage at the track....just gas and go. I don't do a lot of drag or Auto X....just my DD. I am hoping to get some headers and x-pipe soon....I am pretty happy for a "minute". Until i get smoked by a pesky cobra or Z06....then I will ''Have" to do more....

Well, I would say your friend is most likely wrong. Jeff is one of the very best tuners on the East Coast and has tuned more than 300 LS1's. While I do not have the knowledge to speak about the kind of power you should be making with your current mods, I would have thought you would be making another 20-30 RWHP and therefore tend to think your problem is volumetric efficiency or lack there of. Time to drop the stock exhaust manifolds and put some decent long tube headers, high flow cats, x-pipe, etc. I'd bet you gain 30+ HP or more depending on your CAM specs.

Any pictures of your car? I did not realize that there is yet another C5 running around Raleigh here on Corvette Forum. Don't think we have met before.

Hey bro,

I am no expert on dyno graphs.....
Like i mentioned my friend thinks he knows everything and he said I should have my car tuned differently?????

Yeah, I've been here in Raleigh for 1 1/2 years and just got my vert 3 months ago (had a 94 black LT-1 M6)....that is when the modding began. I knew going into my H/C project that my HP was not going to be where I wanted it because I am still running w/ the stock LS-1 intake and exhaust manifolds, cats, and x-pipe.... Opening both ends up a little more should put me near my goal of 400 at the wheels....

I am not an expert w/ posting videos or pics, but I can send some pics to you.....

Wayne, thanks again for the help and lookin' forward to meetin' up this month sometime!!!

-Marko

I dont think I know everything, but I do know that you have something going on towards the top of the power band. I have showed the chart to a couple of very knowledgeable individuals and you at the very least have some missing going on. The track will show your colors. You should have an easy 12sec run??

Yea, that is kinda pricey, but it seems to be the going rate up here.

My car is currently all a mess, been wiring in the SAFC and I got wires all over the place, I already got the Fuel Pump in though. I am hoping it is at least drivable this weekend but it wont be 100% until I get a tune and lean it out somemore....

This weekend should be cool. I dont think Lads car will be done though!
