first tank of gas with this unit install now to find out if it burns more gas. ok i know we are all lead foot but i fulled the tank up with 16.5 gallon devided by 313 mile = 19.5 mile per gallon. i reset the trip meter for a base again. these cars are suppose to get around 25-30 but we all drive 80+ everyw here.
I put a vararam on my car about six months ago and noticed improved performance immediately. The car seems to appreciate the easier breathing alot.
Mileage wise, no difference. I do mostly freeway driving and average 23mpg combined city/highway. On the freeway I get 30mpg at 80mph with the A/C running. Prolly due in large part to the 273 gears that I despise.
Not to shabby tho.
what all is invloved with the vararam install? do you have to take the front nose off?
No you dont have to take it off.. I installed loudmouths the same time I did the VaraRam so I didnt here anything .... But then I swapped the loudmouths for some ti's and now I can notice a sucking sound when cruising at 1800-3k.... Not a bad sound.. Just different. Install took me about 4 hours with a lift (would have taken three or so if I knew to go through the brake ducts for the fog light plastic molding to start out with). I was plesantly pleased with sotp feel. Never actually felt a difference with an CAI before, but the VR was very nice.
