Went to Moroso for the very first time in my 02 vert M6. First I weighed the car and was surprised it weighed 3165 as this is fully optioned car.(that scale must be off even though I did check it at 0 and it balanced off)I was surprised at how light the car is. I'm running with the stock EMT tires Only mods are a Blackwing ,no cats ,and BM Ripper (love the shifter)On my first pass I had the butterflies and did'nt heat up the tires,Left the light at 2000 rpm and mashed the gas broke loose let off and mashed again my time was13.59 @110 with a 60' of 2.528.On my 2nd pass the butterflies were gone and did a nice burnout (poor expensive emt's)Left the light riding the clutch a bit and riding the gas time was 12.89@110 with a 60'of 2.121. I was very impressed .I know I have to practice my launching but what other mods should I consider , Bolt ons that won't hinder drivability.I want to keep her as stock as possible.
THANKS
i have 99 6 speed w/ emt's , suck, full exhaust(*shorty headers, ls6 intake twin k&n induction, mafs, i ran 13.24@109 w/ cat back k&n. next thing i did was ls6 intake, mafs, w/ headers and x pipes w cats. ran 12.94@ 110 and 13.01 @109. next week got off road xpipe finally 60 degree temps and put up 12.67@114 and a 12.73 @ 112 spinning run craps. so the cats and weather got me 4 tenth's. my best run ever was a 12.54 with bf drag radials borrowed from friend.
so i would recommend good gripping tires for at least a tenth or two helps in the 0 50 mph range 1st gear. then get full exhaust i recommend long tubes and get a fast or ls6 intake. and if u want to sniff 11's get cam and heads.
