We went to the track on Saturday with Charlie and his Black 6 spd on a 150 shot of NOS. The car ran great with exception of the clutch slipping. The car has Kook's headers, Tsat, Cartek fan module, Cartek torque management module, and NX 150. The tires are stock.
On the first run, the car hooked better and ran 11.80 @127 but slipped the clutch all through third and forth gear. The 60’ was a 1.98 and the 1/8 mile was a 7.10 @110. On the second run, the tires spun more in first and a little in second and I turned off the NOS in the middle of 3RD gear.
If we had the 1/8 mile from the first run in the second run, 10’s would have been easy. With no roll bar the track sent us packing before we could try again. We are going to install a new clutch this week and some ET Streets and try and hit the track next Saturday.
DAVE please tell out about the CARTEK of clutch. I just lost a EXEDY single. I drag race as much as i can and i drive the car daily-it's no trailer queen. The car is a 02 Z06 that makes around 450RWHP. I have heard good things and bad things-like lots of chatter, very stiff pedal etc... It seems like all the guys who love it get it installed from u guys-if u install it elswhere the results are not so good. I will have to do the install myself( u guys are too far away) -what makes for a good install-how long will it last , what do we need, ,master, flywheel etc....
Great run Dave. That mph should put you in the ten's easily.
Eb02: I have beat the living daylights out of my Cartek clutch at the strip for over a year now and am still cutting high 1.4x's, so I'm obviously very impressed with it.
