Default 1/4 Mile Launch technique?

What is the best way to launch my stock 99 MN6 vert and what could I expect for time and speed?

Add a second to your et for Rocky Mountain air and altitude.Steamboat must be 8000ft above sea level.
On street tires try and launch like your coming off a green light in a hurry. 2000 rpms or so. May be tough to get a 13 up there in Gods country.

I'm no track veteran, but I've been told to launch at about 1800 rpm in a 6-speed C5. My personal best (near sea level, in Michigan) is 13.46@107mph for my stock '99 coupe, with a 2.0 60-ft time. I know with practice I can launch it better and get near a 13.3@107mph, which is what GM reports the car can do.

Thanks to both of you for the information. I have never been on a drag strip (closest is Bandemere in Denver, 150 miles away) and probably won't get there. But there is this pesky '94 ZR1 with Borla catback in the neighborhood. When the car comes out of storage next spring, I'd like to not make a fool of myself. The car will have a K&N and Z06 Ti exhaust by then.
