Most people care about peak numbers. I wanna know:
1- how do racers and people who make serious decisions in the automotive industry look at dyno graphs?
2- What are things you use to judge if something is fast or quick or effeicent from a dyno graph?
3- How do you know where power is dropping off to the extent that you have to shift?
4- What dyno graph reading tips can you give me?
I would like to see if anyone has a technical article about dyno graphs.
you usually want to shift 300-500rpm passed your peak horsepower so the rpm falls right into the peak torque. like my car peaked at 6500 so i shift at 6800, i actually have my shift light at 6700 so by time i get it in gear the engine is somewhere around 6800-6850rpm's.
