upgrading 98 vert/ 95,000 mi
quick question, have blackwing,powerduct, stainlessheaders{longtube},x-pipe,hi flow cats all stainless works, new computer magnum ghl,catback, want to install gx2 cam mild and upgrade valvetrain, anything else besides springs i need to upgrade so as to avoid any breakage or broken parts problems in the future? never been on track and a daily driver, looking to get 500hp front end ,and hopefully 400 rwhp. a4.Should i get a new tranny installed or rebuilt on mine,beef it up a bit. thanks.

def. gonna need a new tranny, or a beefed up one. Def. do your oil pump & timing chain when you do the cam too. Also a hardened output shaft & torque converter wouldnt be a bad idea if your going to track the car.Good luck with everything and keep us updated.

With nearly 100k miles...putting an additional 100rwhp on the stock bottom end is a recipe for...well, a new bottom end. I wouldn't expect more than 20k, though you may get lucky. Essentially, you're going to need a new engine sooner or later with dreams of 400rwhp or more...
So, you could h/c it now...or go ahead an upgrade the stock bottom as well to forged parts...

Got some results and quite happy, had the G5X3 cam , upgraded the valvetrain,pushrods,etc. F.A.S.T manifold 78mm,ls1 edit ,dynoed at 363rwhp, will post more detailed results this week , still have some more tweaking to do this week at AZ POWER AND SOUND IN TEMPE.
