Looking for a camera for taking pictures of car mostly, does not need to be anything high end or special, I am by no means a skilled photographer. Can anyone recommend something to get better car shots than my iphone 11. Only looking to spend a couple hundred bucks. TIA

Thank you for contributing to this section of the forum. Before anyone can really answer that question for you, we would need to know what is your iPhone 11 not doing for you that a dedicated camera could? In other-words what what are you trying to achieve that you Phone Camera is limiting? Are you looking to print the photos or just share on social media? Are you trying to create images or just take snap shots of what you are seeing? I say all of that because depending on the type of shots you are trying to take/create it is highly unlikely you are going to find a cheap camera that is going to give you better quality than an iPhone 11. IMO in this day and age with the improvement of Camera Phones that is more than enough for 99% of what people are going to do with it and I would recommend staying with that over a lower level Point and Shoot.
Just looking for maybe some sharper/clearer images, will not be printing photos just sharing. I think its mostly a “zoom” issue. I say a zoom issue because pics up close or in portrait mode come out great but as soon as I get much further away they become very distorted. Maybe I just need to play around more with the Iphone camera and my editing skills

My honest opinion is if you are just going to be sharing them I would stick with the iPhone...I actually also have the iPhone 11 and it is quite good because unlike most camera phone it has (3) lenses so you get an Optical Zoom not just a Digital Zoom. Most people don't understand how big of a difference that makes. When you zoom digitally you add in all sorts or noise and artifacts into the image. NOTE: I do not really use my iPhone as a camera, but I know there have been some very nice photos created using that phone and a numerous Youtube "How to Videos" to really help you out. Personally, I'm not really big on phone photography...but it certainly has its place though.
from hat i know about Iphones, (Iphone 8) it takes pretty damn good pics. I cannot imagine the 11's camera is worse. in fact I think the IQ of the 11 is probably on par or better with a budget DSLR.
Spend some time On Youtube. I'm betting there are settings on that phone you are unaware of.

Sell the iPhone 11 then spend that couple hundred bucks to upgrade to an 11Pro.
To get a camera which will shoot better imagery than an iPhone 11Pro, you'll need to spend a hell of a lot more than a couple hundred bucks.

after rereading, the other thing that it probably is would be the proper grip on the phone. OP said wider angle shots are good, zoom not so much. a zoomed image is far more susceptible to camera shake than a pano.
