Countertop Nonsense

With the kitchen light on I set the car on my countertop and placed my camera on a tripod with a cable release. I got my framing and set focus manually. The shutter was on Bulb. I then turned off the kitchen light, opened the shutter and started waving the wand around in the background for the pattern you see in the photo. Quickly, I switched the light wand to it's lowest power output @ 5500K at lit the car. Then I simply closed the shutter.
Trial and error. Wave the background light too quickly and the streaking effect is terrible and appears white. Wave it too slow and you loose the effect. The other issue was the car. If you just blast it with light too much of the countertop is lit and you start throwing light around the room. I suppose it took a dozen or so attempts to get one I liked.
