Is there an easy way to turn a negative into a digital image. Either hardware or software based. I am a rank amateur and do not know what can or cannot be done.
I have tons of old negatives that I would love to have a digital image of. Willing to buy home hardware if needed but not expensive professional grade.
Guidance appreciated.

I use an Epson Perfection V700 Photo scanner. It's old, but does a great job on large-format negatives. It can also scan a dozen slides at once using a slide holder. It take a long time to scan 12 slides, but during that time I can unload and refill my second slide holder, keeping the scanner busy.
After my dad died, I found a stack of large B/W negatives that he took in the 50's and 60's with his large-format Graflex camera. When scanned at high resolution, they produce stunning images. Adobe Photoshop's new AI filters do an amazing job of converting them to color. See below.
I had an old cannon that had a scanner attachment for the negatives. If your scanner is good enough it may accomplish it. I never got stellar results from them though. Photoshop can reverse them once you can get them into your computer.
