For September the subject is about your favorite photos, the ones you go back to, that make you smile. Seems a lot of us like to shoot many different subjects, pick two of your favorite photos (separate posts) and tell a little about why these make you smile. I know for me it's just that I got it right and sometimes just with luck. My favorite is landscape but I've some others that really make me smile.

One of my landscape favorites, near where I live and represents my favorite area of Zion N.P.


I don't shoot many people, this was a neighbors kids (they have 9), a family shoot and this was spontaneous.


A lucky day, taking a snowy drive and came across these Desert Big Horn Sheep, I go back to this often


Two other hobbies are collecting knives and tumble polishing rocks, these two came together for one of my favorite photos

Great topic this month. Below are (2) photos that ALWAYS make me smile. They are definitely not technically my best photos by any stretch but they mean so much to me personally.

The first is of my then pregnant Wife and Daughter in Silhouette in our back yard.

The one in the next post that is of my Wife and now (2) Daughters a few years later taken in my photo studio.

I grin all over because I remember all the time and effort I put into the finish on my 70 Swinger 340. I have kicked myself repeatedly for selling it 4 years ago. Really stupid move.

Got to take these from the back of an AT-6 southwest of Houston. My second chance for air to air photography with anything but a cell phone. First was in 2015 and got to take pictures of the museum's B-17 Fly Fortress as it transited from Houston to Galveston. Unfortunately I could not get those to attach here.

I told them I am going to keep them locked in the basement until Morale improves, photo was created in record time!

Although he isn't smiling, it always makes me smile. This is William, one of my Grandsons, fishing on the Columbia River. He is 20 now. I experimented with some fill-flash and it payed off.

This photo of a great blue heron was taken from my back yard. Makes me think of serenity and peaceful power.

Stone mill nearby. Next month it'll be lit up again as the New England trees put on their fall colors. Makes me think of hot cider on cool clear nights.
