Default Mutant Squirrel

Saw this black squirrel with a white face and white tipped ears, goggled up black squirrel and it was said they are the offspring of a fox squirrel and a grey squirrel but those are almost always brown with some being part black and brown. The only other entry had a painting of this squirrel saying it was the result of having a broken DNA strand and are very very rare, so rare the American Indian lore was if you saw one luck was coming your way. I’ve spent many hours in the woods and have seen 1000’s of grey squirrels and very rarely I would see a flying squirrel or what I thought was a fox squirrels but never one of these. I’m in the upper half of Ga. if that makes any difference.

I've never seen a squirrel like this, it's so cute.

I have a number of black squirrels by me the last few years, but not to "mutant" stage yet!

Been seeing black squirrels more in Texas. They are a result of different species breeding. While I've seen several black squirrels. I have not seen one with a light face.
